Kukorelly Endre: They Who’re Alive Say That (Azt mondja aki él in English)

They Who’re Alive Say That (English)
They who’re alive and walk about say that
nobody can know how long they’ll endure this. Perhaps they scribbled it down on a tiny piece of paper and keep it in their pocket, the who’re alive. How long. There may be some who know, and tremble, as if from love. Perhaps if we could endure not to look for and not to find anything. They the sun is shining at say, My Lord Thy Sun is shining upon my head, this Sun is shining upon us. Or they keep on silent this way, and say nothing to anyone. And the do not proceed, they stop, they keep looking or else they’not looking at all and keep silent only. They do not see how black that Sun really is. They who’re alive say that to be only a little, is impossible. They who are alive, just keep on making one step after another, only like machines. And they keep right on stepping like machines. Just like machines My Lord. |
