Biography
CVI was born in 1954. I grew up in Abony, where I began my education, completing it in Nagykőrös and in Szeged. I hold a university degree in Hungarian and Russian literature. After graduation I was unemployed for a number of years, subsequently I taught in the Kvassay and Semmelweis Secondary Schools, then at the Experimental High School in Törökbálint and the Zsigmond Lyceum in Óbuda. I also collaborated with the following literary periodicals: Kortárs (assistant editor, later poetry editor), Szivárvány (co-editor), Kelet (editor-in-chief), and have worked as series editor for Kortárs Publishers. Since January 1996, I have been working as a stage director for the Kolibri Theater; I also teach classes there, as well as at the University of Applied Arts and the Theba School for the Arts in stage direction, the theory and history of drama. I live in Óbuda, have two daughters, Sára and Judit; my wife Csilla is employed as sales executive by the Kanematsu Corporation of Japan. My eyes are blue, which turn green when I feel unhappy, a state of mind that occurs quite frequently.
