Színházelméletet és színháztörténetet tanult az olmützi (olomouci) egyetemen, 1999-től a Cseh Tudományos Akadémián dolgozik. Eddig tizenkét kötetet adott ki. Verseiben gyakran eleve adott tematikai struktúrák jellemezte tömör távolkeleti versalakzatokat követ.
