Étellel, csenddel... (Hungarian)

Csak a szél. Már megint nem te vagy,
pedig étellel, csenddel vártalak.
A nagy szavakat, mint olcsó ruhát,
levetettem. Nem várok csodát.
Nem kérek semmit. Nem panaszkodom.
Csak tenyered helye üres arcomon.

Ami lettünk volna, vagyok egymagam.
Szavaimnak immár kettős súlya van.
Szemeddel is nézem, amit láthatok.
Veled járok, éppen hogy csak nem vagy ott.

Amit kimondani nem tudtam neked,
látod, most a munkám okos része lett.
S amit nem láttál meg elnyűtt arcomon,
az szólít meg. Tekinteteddel rokon.

With food, in silence... (English)

Just the wind. Again, it’s not you,
though with food, in silence I awaited you.
I stripped off like cheap clothes
the big words, I don’t wait for miracles.
I don’t ask anything. I don’t complain.
Only your hand’s place is bare on my face.

What we two could have been, I am that alone.
My words carry double weight by now.
I watch also with your eyes, that which I see.
I walk with you, you who are barely far from me.

What I couldn’t say, you see,
the wise part of my effort has been.
What you didn't see on my worn face is shown,
that calls me. It’s your eyes so well known.
