Most jázminos lugasban,
E nyári hűvös estvén,
Lillámmal űlök együtt:
Lillám velem danolgat
És csókolódva tréfál,
Míg barna szép hajával
Zefir susogva játszik.

Itt egy üveg borocskát
A zőld gyepágyra tettem
És gyenge rózsaszállal
Száját be is csináltam,

Kaskámba friss eperrel.

Egy öszveséggel íly sok
Gyönyörűt, becsest ki látott?
S ki boldogabb Vitéznél?

Now in the jasmine bower,
On this cool summer night,
Sitting next to my Lily:
Lily is singing with me
And tricking me with kisses,
While she plays with her lovely brunette hair
Whispering like the zephyr,
I put a bottle of wine
Here on the green lawn
And with a tender rosebud
I covered her mouth,
Over there Anachreon's
Poems are in my basket
Among the fresh strawberries.

With such completeness may
Beauty and value be surpassed?
And who's happier than Valor?
