Sebestyén Péter: Icarus (Ikarosz in English)

Portre of Sebestyén Péter

Ikarosz (Hungarian)

Láttad a meredélyt? A szép nekilendülést? Ahányszor
tárul a szárny, az újdonat lehetetlen - -
mikor reccsen a statika -
Mert rajzolt köreik majdnem-tökélye is több,
mint a látás engedelme, és a Fiú mennyet
éppen-fölkarcoló kiáltása - -
Az íratlan-hagyott tér, a kiterjedésre váró vonal,
a mindenfelől összenőtt óceán amit
sosem fog eltéveszteni - -

Nem a magasság, sem Nap-krematórium, sem nagyravágyás
nem töri szét. Porladó lélegzettel angyali tükörbe rántja
az utolsó érzékelés. Az ív, hibátlanság gömb-árnya,
a gyémántnál-keményebb áttetsző csalás,
a szemérmes gravitáció.

Végül teljes a vonulás: fellegekben száz évszak hűs esője,
a hónapok apályból-növő szédülete és minden mi
odafönn hullik, a kék csend - -
Engedd el őt. Engedj el mindnyájunkat.
Sirály kering fölfelé. Éj mossa az elengedett partokat.

Icarus (English)

Did you see the chasm? The beautiful dash? The many times as the wings open, the new impossibility --
when statics crackles -
Because even the nearly-perfection of their drawn circles is more than the permission of seeing, and the Son’s cry scarcely scratching heaven open --
The space left-unwritten, the line waiting to be expanded, the ocean grown together from all directions which he will never miss --

Neither height, nor Sun-crematory or ambition
will shatter him. With crumbling breath he’ll be drawn into an angelic mirror by a final perception. The arc, the globe-shadow of immaculateness,
transparent delusion harder than diamond,
bashful gravity.

And finally the procession is complete: cool rain of hundred seasons in the clouds,
dizziness of months growing out of ebbs, and everything that’s
falling up there, blue silence - -
Let him free. Let us all free.
A sea-gull is circling upwards. Night’s washing the shores let free.
