Sebestyén Péter: A mi időnkben

Portre of Sebestyén Péter

A mi időnkben (Hungarian)

Mondd a nevét. A levert vakolat alól, mint pajzán bölcsesség, előkerülsz.

In Our Times (English)

Tell me his name. From under the stripped mortar, like mischievous wisdom, you turn up. Behind the mirror there’s a playground where you were never allowed to go, neither alone, nor together with the one you wanted. So now it’s a question what you in fact should really see in the scratched afternoon light.

The king has left, the game is not valid, everyone came off badly who still would’ve liked to play. A phone that can’t ever be called back rasps, and a distant relative of yours insinuates that life is short. The children have come back to the yard, they prepare the mandalas of death, and when at last you remember, you utter his name, and he will turn the empty sandglass in the mirror.
