Kukorelly Endre: Az 1984-es kijárat

Portre of Kukorelly Endre

ennél a mondatnál könnyű elakadni

mégis, szél fúj, a nap süt, város, virág, nők, csend, éjszaka, erdő, lámpafény, takaró, papírlap, Mozart, anya, tűz, gyertya, sült hús, bor, szőnyeg, madárhang, föld, futball, könyvtár, könyvszag, folyó, éhség, álom; minden megvan.

Asylum.

Exit 84 (English)

     To Géza Ottlik

Perhaps, yes, there is a point from which you don't move, one or more. You also consider escaping, but it's never as certain as you imagine. He who follows the signs simple-mindedly easily gets out of the labyrinth into which God knows why he ventured;

you don't know how you got there

you get out and fade into reality, get mixed up in the world. But, if you know: those not beckoning you, if you know well: you can rely only on yourself, and straining yourself walk through the whole system, then you'll see through its structure

I leave off structure for a time, while I eat a ripe banana

you see through it, the get out, but don't free yourself. You reach a hall where everything's yours, you sit down and it's enough. But how, when you're right inside, locked in like a vest. They lock you in, surround you and there's deaf silence. Yet

it's easy to get stuck here in this sentence

And yet the wind blows, the sun shines, city, flower, women, silence, night, forest, lamplight, blanket, sheet of paper, Mozart, mother, fire, candle, roast
meat, wine, carpet, birdsong, earth, football, library, booksmell, river, hunger, dream; you've got everything.

Asylum

Have I prepared? Am I preparing and getting there? Leave it, and lock up your damned literary experiences. So, drive in those of the empire.
