A franciaországi változásokra (Hungarian)

Nemzetek, országok! kik rút kelepcében
Nyögtök a rabságnak kínos kötelében,
S gyászos koporsóba döntő vas-igátok
Nyakatokról eddig le nem rázhatátok;

Ti is, kiknek vérét a természet kéri,
Hív jobbágyitoknak felszentelt hóhéri!
Jertek, s hogy sorsotok előre nézzétek,
Vigyázó szemetek Párizsra vessétek!

On the changes in France (English)

Peoples and nations! in grimmest captivity
Where men groan in chains of hidebound servility,
Where fetters are binding upon the general
And only thrown off for burial or funeral;

And you, for whose blood nature calls to requite her,
Ye hangmen of serfs blessed with ermine or mitre,
Come! if the lineaments of fate you'd have bared for you,
Feast your eyes on Paris and what is prepared for you.
